It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tina Fontaine in the early morning hours on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Vita Regional District Health Centre.
Tina was predeceased by her parents and her brother Dave.
Tina leaves to cherish her many memories; her husband of 41 years Barry; daughter Cynthia (Tim); son Dwayne (Natalie); grandchildren Vanessa (Jonathan), Amanda (Stan), Barry (Iona), Scott; four great grandchildren; brother Peter (Susan); as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Tina was born in Morris, MB and raised in Lowe Farm, MB. At age 16, she left home to explore the world. Tina met Barry on a blind date and together they have traveled across Canada working in various provinces, creating memories along the way.
Tina was quick witted and was known to hold her own. She was also known for her accounting skills, and served her local community helping many of her friends with their income tax. She worked alongside Barry as they managed their sawmill and logging business in Woodridge.
In their retirement years Tina and Barry traveled to Cuba, Alaska, as well as the East Coast. Tina will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the Woodridge Lutheran Cemetery, Woodridge, MB.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Vita District Health Centre for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Tina during her stay.
