Yvan Blanchette

On January 20th 2022, Yvan peacefully passed into God's warm embrace at his home, with his loving wife Mary-Ann by his side. He was 62 years old. 

Yvan was born and raised in Quebec to Leonard and Anne-Marie. He loved and cherished all his family and friends in Quebec and always held his memories of growing up in Quebec close to his heart. 

His career in the RCMP posted him in Manitoba until his retirement in 2010. Yvan loved meeting people. He was very hard working and always put forward his best efforts to serve the people in the communities of Manitoba. 

Yvan brought life into any room with his smile, competitive spirit, fun loving, and outgoing personality. He wasn't one to shy away from his opinion, but he had a generous heart and was there to help family and friends whenever he could. 

Yvan lived passionately in all he did, whether it was playing hockey, cheering on the Canadiens, fishing, or playing his guitar. He had many dreams and ambitions, and through his hard working and relentless spirit - made all of them come true.  He danced like no one was watching. 

Yvan loved God. His strong Christian faith was imparted to those who crossed his path in discussions and encouragement to follow our Christ. 

Yvan will be sorely missed by his wife Mary-Ann of 16 years, his mom Anne-Marie, and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and friends.  He loved and was the proud father of Nathaniel (Kiley) and Jason. Yvan affectionately adored his granddaughters Arianna and Madeline. They were his pride and joy. Yvan will be fondly remembered by all of Mary-Ann's family.  He is also survived by his brother Daniel (Rene).

Yvan was predeceased by his father Leonard and his mother-in-law Lena. 

Loving husband, father and grandfather, friend to all, may you rest in peace Yvan. And with all who have gone before you and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

A special thankyou to all our family and friends for their help and never-ending support. Yvan enjoyed all your visits, your laughs and your love. You were the brightness to his day. 

Yvan's Celebration of Life will be held Feb 26th at 1pm at Crossings Funeral Care, 12E-40 North Gate Drive, Steinbach, MB. Reception to follow. Due to provincial restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. The service may be viewed via livestream on Crossings Funeral Care website. 

Flowers may be sent to Crossings Funeral Care for Yvan's service. If desired, in lieu of flowers, family asks donations be sent to Habitat for Humanity in Yvan's honor.
