Willi Friesen Doerksen

August 15, 1963 — December 28, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Willi Doerksen, who passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2024.

He was predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Aganetha Doerksen, as well as three of his sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Anna, their four children, Nancy (John), Melanie, Hirby (Cloé), and Kerry, grandchildren: Matthew, Sophia, Sabastian, Liam, Amaya, Jacque, and Lielle, three brothers, five sisters and their families. As well as numerous extended family and friends.

Willi was born on August 15th, 1963, in Loma Plata, Paraguay, to Gerhard and Aganetha Doerksen. He spent his early years in Reinfeld, where he attended school through grade 7 and worked alongside his father in farming.

Willi was baptized on May 27, 1984, in the Mennoniten Gemeinde, Weidenfeld, Kolonie Menno, Paraguay. In 1983 he met the love of his life, Anna, and the two were married on September 1st, 1984. They were blessed with four children and enjoyed a life full of love, faith, and family.

In 1994, Willi and his family made the decision to move to Canada, where they settled and made a new life together. Willi dedicated much of his career to working as a maintenance technician, where his hard work and skills were greatly appreciated.

Willi had a deep love for the outdoors, and he found peace and joy in hunting, fishing and camping. He cherished the time spent in nature, often sharing these moments with his loved ones. When he wasn’t enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, he could often be found sitting with his phone, searching for the next great BBQ or rooster deal on VarageSale. His knack for finding a good bargain brought him both joy and laughter, and it became a cherished part of his routine.

Willi is survived by his beloved wife, Anna, their four children, Nancy, Melanie, Hirby, and Kerry, seven grandchildren, three brothers, five sisters and their families, and numerous family members and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and the love he shared with those around him.

May Willi rest in peace, forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
