Siegbert Otto Jaeger

In loving memory of our husband, father, and grandfather Siegbert Jaeger, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Siegbert was predeceased by his father Siegfried. He will be deeply missed by his wife of forty years Evelyn, his children Tobias (Eva-Maria), Alexandra and Madeleine (Mike), his step-children Martina (Thomas), Patricia (Armin) and Matthias, as well as his mother Edelgard, his brother Reimund (Sabine), his grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

Siggi was born March 11th 1964 in Boennigheim, Germany. He grew up with his brother Reimund and spent a lot of time working in the fields or greenhouses with his father as a teenager. Growing up surrounded by flowers in the family flower shop, Siggi got to love flowers and other plants, which continued to be a big part throughout his life. Spending time outside in the garden always brought him great joy . He would also often talk about the adventures he experienced on his travels to Sweden with his father on their VW bus. 

Siggi and Evelyn got married December 7th 1984. In the years to come they welcomed their children and continued to live in southern Germany. Right from the start Siggi was a caring husband and father. 

In 2006, Siggi ventured to Canada in search of a better life for his family. With just a suitcase, he started to make the new beginning a reality. He worked hard throughout his life to provide and care for his family, who meant everything to him. While Siggi enjoyed seeing many different places throughout North America on his travels as a long haul truck driver, he could never wait for the moment when he would return home to his loved ones, both human and furry. His grandson, Jamie, would wait for him with anticipation and run to the door to greet him. 

Siggi was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. His family and animals meant the world to him and he would do anything to make sure everyone was ok. He loved helping out anyone if he could. 

We will miss you forever! You had to leave us way too soon. Until we meet again. 

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of life is being planned for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Crossings Funeral Care in Steinbach, Manitoba.
