It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend Robert Stanley Falk after a very short battle with lung cancer on February 15, 2025, at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his family.
Robert was predeceased by his father, Peter Falk.
He leaves behind his mother Susie Falk, loving wife Melody, his children and stepchildren, Jerica & Dan, James & Tania, Keely & Rob, Samantha, and Skylar as well as 9 grandchildren: Davien, Kaycie, Rhylynn, Jorel, Mylah, Angel, Isis, Willow and Kehlani. He also leaves behind his siblings Jerry & Cindy, and Naomi & James and nieces and nephews Byron, Megan & Riley, Jared & Jasper, Brittany, Janessa & Taylor, and Samantha, along with their families.
Robert was born in Winnipeg on June 14, 1960, to Peter and Susie Falk, and spent most of his childhood on the farm in Pansy, attending school in Grunthal. Rob got his first guitar at 10 years old, but quickly outgrew it and upgraded to his Yamaki at age 13. His mom taught him his first chords, and he quickly became one of the most talented guitarists most people have ever known.
His music journey started at a young age with the “Falk Family”, playing in many bands and quartets and recently retiring to, as he said, “leave it to the younger ones.” His talent as a musician, singer, songwriter was known far and wide. Although he could sing any part of a group, it was his deep, rich, seasoned bass voice that was his signature sound.
Robert was baptized upon confession of his faith on May 30, 1982. His love for Jesus radiated right up until the day he left us. He loved his kids and being a grandfather. Always showing the latest pictures like the proud Papa/Grampy he was.
In the later years, he worked for 22 yrs at Piston Ring, and enjoyed life with his wife, birding, and wildlife photography.
We will miss you, your humor, your love, and your wisdom.
Till we meet again.
