Melanie Lindsey McIntosh passed away suddenly on Thursday November 11, 2021, at her home at the age of 34 years.
Melanie was predeceased by her grandparents Cameron and Jeanne McIntosh and her pepere Guy Encontre.
Melanie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother; Estelle(Ken), father; Wayne (Sally), sister; Candace, niece; Sierra, her memere; Cecile Encontre, and her dog Rubee; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Melanie’s story begins on May 14, 1987 in Winnipeg, Manitoba when she was blessed to Estelle and Wayne McIntosh. As the first born, she became the centre of their world. In 1989 they moved to St. Adolphe, and shortly afterward, Melanie became big sister to Candace.
She attended St. Adolphe Elementary School, and later Sanford Collegiate in Sanford, Manitoba. Her passion for helping the elderly began at age 15 when she worked at St. Adolphe Nursing Home. This led to her graduating from Herzing Institute as a Health Care Aid. She pursued her health care career in the Southern Health Region where her care and compassion was valued by her many clients.
Melanie’s love for the outdoors extended to camping, gardening, cycling and a passion for archery, for which she won many competitions. Melanie spent many hours crafting, bringing much joy not only to herself but to others. Her beautiful creations will be cherished by many.
Spending time with Candace and Sierra was always a priority for Melanie; going for walks with their dogs was the favourite part of their day. Melanie loved life and was not afraid of a challenge. Her perseverance was evident in how she dealt with her life’s challenges.
Melanie’s love of life, sense of humour and beautiful spirit will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Melanie’s honour to your favourite animal rescue shelter or to the Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba.
Per Melanie’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
