Loretta Lux

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Joyce Lux (nee Schirlie), age 65 of Niverville MB, on Monday, August 16, 2021

Loretta is survived by her spouse Gerald, her sons Trevor (Julie) & Matthew (Carisa), her brothers Ronald (Sue) and Gordon (Tami). She is also survived by five grandchildren: Norah, Scarlett, William, Ivy & Hannah.

She devoted her life to her children, opting to work from home using her gifts as a seamstress.  From there she ran her business 'Seams Unlimited’.  Her work could be seen on many grad dresses, beautiful handmade wedding dresses, even stuffed animals and memorable Halloween costumes for her kids and grandkids. Loretta was an incredibly talented artist and painter.  She created many unique designs with her artwork including ‘tamarack birds’ many of which were one of a kind.  These birds were displayed and sold at boutique shops as far away as northwestern Ontario. Her favourite hobby was gardening she had a vast knowledge and love for plants and flowers. She loved ‘playing in the dirt’ as she put it.  During her kids’ younger years, they enjoyed many fishing and camping adventures as a family.

Loretta was a huge supporter of her son’s sports. She always welcomed her son’s friends into their home and was often lovingly cooking for the whole team. Her life was not without its struggles. She battled cancer twice and survived. Despite such things, she was always willing to lend an ear or deep conversation any time it was needed.

Loretta was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind some beautiful memories.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our mom and grandma. We love you forever and we miss you.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Crossings Funeral Care,12E- 40 North Gate Drive, Steinbach, MB.
