It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend. Karmen Lacey Peters passed on April 10th, 2022. She was 16 years old and a student at Ste Anne Collegiate.
Karmen was born on June 7th, 2005 at Ste Anne Hospital. From the moment she was born everyone fell in love with her. Her captivating smile brightened everyone’s day whileher carefree laugh drew everyone closer to her. As she grew, her magnetic personality just made her all the more endearing to the people who had the fortune to spend time with her.
Karmen was an honor roll student and had a brilliant mind for math. She whole heartily immersed herself in every extra activity possibly at school. She volunteered in the canteen, yearbook, leadership program along with many fundraising and school spirit events which she helped plan and organize. Karmen loved playing basketball and for anyone who had the opportunity to watch her, they would all agree that she was without a doubt, both fierce and entertaining on the court.
Marchand was her home and whether it was through her job as a cashier at Marchand Store, babysitting, house sitting, or animal caretaking, she didn’t just know the people, she became friends with them, and that included people of all ages. She was also well known in the community, both as a volunteer for various community events as well as her fundraising skills as exhibited in the Relay for Life fundraising event she organized with a team of teenagers. Karmen was adventurous, silly, caring, and had a great love of the outdoors, especially fishing, quading, and hiking along the creek behind their yard.
Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her parents, Menno and Karin, brother Brennen (wife Kayla), sister Kaylee (partner Jamie), brother Cole, niece Olivia, grandma Betty Peters (husband John), grandpa Ben and grandma Martha Kehler, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and great relatives. She was predeceased by grandfather, Jacob Peters.
