Surrounded by his family, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Jakob Schwarz, age 58 on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Jakob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Maria, children; Kristina (Val) Renz, Vitali (Elena) Schwarz, Jakob (Annika) Schwarz, David Schwarz, grandchildren; Jessica, Stacey, James Renz. As well as his three sisters, two brothers, and their families.
Jakob was a very heartwarming and caring soul who would do everything for his family and friends.
His pleasant, cheerful and energetic personality was contagious to everyone he met.
Jakob met the love of his life, Maria, in 1981 while visiting his aunt in Kazakhstan. He sent her many love letters which she eagerly awaited while he was serving in the military. Jakob and Maria got married on January 14th, 1984 during an enchanting evening while the snow was gently falling.
With their two children Kristina and Vitali they moved to Germany in 1993 and found Jesus Christ as their Savior, which was followed by their baptism on May 22nd, 1994. Soon after, they were blessed with two more children, Jakob and David. Throughout his life, Jakob instilled his musical talent in many, and used it to serve the Lord.
With their two youngest sons, Jakob and Maria moved to Canada in 2008 shortly followed by their two children Kristina and Vitali. God had blessed them with wonderful friends who supported them through their struggles as they were beginning a new life.
Jakob spent 30 years of his life as a long-haul truck driver seeing many places and meeting many people. He was accompanied by his wife whenever possible, where they spent many priceless hours together and created long-lasting memories.
We find comfort and happiness in the life long memories we have created together. His wisdom and guidance will be strongly missed by his children and grandchildren and a part of him will live in our hearts and be cherished forever.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Crossings Funeral Care, following current public health guidelines. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday January 29, 2022 with interment in the Steinbach Heritage Cemetery.
The family would like to thank their family and friends for all their prayers and support they received during this difficult time.
