Gerhard (George) Martens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Martens, brother, uncle and friend.  He passed away peacefully at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB, on Thursday, June 10, 2021 after a short illness.

George grew up in the Rosenort area and attended Pleasant Valley School. He spent his life working at Landmark Feeds and farming. His nieces and nephews brought much joy to his life.

George is survived by his brother Herm & wife, Eleanor Martens, nieces and nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his great nephew, Aaron Friesen; step-sister Marlene and her husband Ed Toews; niece Muriel Brandt and her husband Murray.

The private family funeral service for George Martens will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 11AM at Crossings Funeral Care. The funeral will be livestreamed for friends.  Public viewing, following current Covid restriction protocol, will be held at Crossings Funeral Care on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM and at the Rosenort Fellowship Chapel on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Commissioning a Lifestyle of Integrity (cli.International) to develop a Kids Integrity Program.
