Florence Thiessen

Peacefully with her daughter by her side, Florence Thiessen passed away at the age of 101 on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Vita Personal Care Home.

Florence was predeceased by her son Garry Thiessen in 2008.

Florence will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Maxine (Dan) Hart, and Lucille (Rick) Northcott, her grandchildren; Clayton (Caitlin) Elkjar, Matthew Hart (his girlfriend Kiersten), Jack Northcott, Robert (Tina) Northcott, Melissa (Matthew) Miron, and David Northcott, her great grandchildren; Brock Elkjar, Lia Elkjar, Katelyn Northcott, Angel Northcott, Olivia Northcott, Noah Northcott, and Lauren Miron.

Florence was born on December 14, 1918 on the farm just outside of Outlook, Saskatchewan. Florence loved the farm, and spoke often of her memories there. Florence raised her family in Penticton, BC earning a living as a piano teacher for nearly 40 years. At the age of 90 yrs, Florence moved to Manitoba to live with her daughter Maxine and her family, experiencing the love of family once again in her final years.

According to Florence’s wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest in the spring, on the farm in Saskatchewan.

The family would to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Vita Personal Care Home, for the care and compassion shown to their mom during her stay and final days.
