Eva Doerksen (nee Kehler) passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2022, at the age of 87 years.
She was born to Abram and Helen Kehler on November 5th, 1934 in the Randolph area.
Upon confession of her faith she was baptized in the Chortitzer Mennonite Church on June 1, 1952. On March 1, 1953 she married a handsome young man by the name of John Doerksen and together they served the Lord for over 56 years. After the passing of John, Eva continued to live in Niverville for another 10 years. In January of 2019, she moved in with her daughter Irene and son-in-law Peter where she stayed till the day of her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are; Irene (Peter) Ginter, Luke (Leona) Doerksen, Clarence (Linda) Doerksen, Peter (Verna) Doerksen, Don (Val) Doerksen and Kathy (Kel) Plett, 26 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren, brother and sister in-law John and Tina Kehler, sister and brother-in-law Helen and Bryan Howell, and sister in-law Margaret Kehler, in-laws, Max and Doreen Friesen, Abe and Katherine Unger, Anne Doerksen and John and Betty Kehler.
She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents Abram and Helen Kehler, brothers, Ernie, Pete and Abe, her sister Esther, sisters in-law, Mary and Anne Kehler, Sara Doerksen and brothers in- law Henry and Jake Doerksen.
Eva and John raised their family on a farm in the Niverville area, serving faithfully in the church where Eva taught Sunday School, served with the Ladies Aid Group and blessed many people with her gift of hospitality.
Peter and Irene thank all those who faithfully supported them in prayer. We could not have done it without you.
A viewing will be held from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm on Saturday April 2, 2022 at Crossings Funeral Care, as well as one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday April 3, 2022 at the Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church, 20 Sara Ave. New Bothwell. Burial will take place in Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville. For those unable to attend in person, the family invites you to join them via livestream.
