Elda Morrison

Elda Morrison, aged 94, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, at her home in Grunthal, MB.

Born on May 28, 1930, in the RM of Hanover to Frank and Margaret Kroeker, Elda grew up on the farm with siblings Clarence, Albert and Shirley. She attended school in Mitchell up until grade 8 when she continued to pursue her education at the Steinbach Bible College. After Elda graduated, she rented an apartment near the Euclid Church in Winnipeg where she was involved with Children’s Ministries, Child Evangelism and several missions. She was very passionate about working with vulnerable people of all ages and walks of life and used any opportunity she could to share her faith.

In September 1966, Elda married her first and most beloved husband, Carl Mills. They spent 17 cherished years together, working for B.F. Klassen Construction, where Elda cooked at camp while Carl worked construction. Several years after Carl's passing, Elda remarried David Morrison, residing in Winnipeg until David's passing in 2011.

Elda moved to Steinbach and eventually to Bridgepark Manor. Despite health challenges, including a stroke, she persevered through a year of rehabilitation and later lived at Greendale Estates in Grunthal and eventually the Menno Home, where she spent her final years surrounded by caring staff and some family.

Elda made friends easily with her kind and loving spirit. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kindness towards others, and ability to live out an amazing example of God’s love. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and a life lived in service to others.

Cremation has taken place and Elda’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Crossings Funeral Care location at 12E-40 North Gate Drive, Steinbach, Manitoba. The formal proceeding will begin at 2:30 p.m. All who knew Elda are welcome to attend.
