Douglas Kenneth Watt passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma on June 27, 2023.
Doug was born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 8, 1969 to Kenneth and Noreen (Shaw) Watt. The family moved to Fort Frances, Ontario in 1971. Doug attended Robert Moore School and Fort Frances High School where he met the love of his life, Sherry Langtry. On May 20, 1995, he was united in marriage to Sherry in Thunder Bay, Ontario. His son Thomas was born October 9, 1996 and his son Kenton was born September 28, 1999. In August 2003, the family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Doug was employed by Robinson Supply. A special thank you to his coworkers for their support during this past year.
Doug was a loving husband and an amazing dad. He is survived by his wife Sherry, sons; Thomas (Hannah) and Kenton, mother; Noreen, sister Kandis Watt, brother Brett (Shauna), mother-in-law and father-in-law Barb and Don Koczkur, sister-in-law Stacey (Grant) Donais and brother-in-law Shawn (Justin) Langtry.
He is also survived by nieces Alex (Jason) Osborne, Teagan Clark, Jasmyn, Julia and Janaya Watt, nephew Hunter (Sabrina) Donais; as well as Aunt Melody (Chris) Grey, Aunt Joan Shaw and numerous cousins. He was pre-deceased by his father Kenneth on May 18, 2022.
He will be missed by his beagle Molly.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Desjardin Funeral Home, 357 Des Meurons Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. A luncheon will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
