Peacefully, with her family by her side, Doris Mary Elizabeth Stott passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 71.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Vicky and Lionel Berriault, brother Andre Berriault, niece Jody Martens, and nephews Zach Maud and Joey Stott.
She leaves to mourn her sons Shawn (Bobbi), David (Crystal), Sheldon, and daughter Charlene; her grandchildren Madisson (Jak), Jessica (Brandon), Caleb, Kai, Noah, Jendi, and Isabel; husband of 42 years Gary; her brothers Bob (Cathy), Ralph (Heather), Rick, and David; her sisters Carol (Art) and Angel (Greg), and all of her Stott family in-laws.
Doris loved her family above all else. They were always the most important thing in her life. She loved to dance and never missed an opportunity to get out on the dance floor and show us how it was done. She loved to do puzzles and played a mean game of crib. Her favourite place in the world was to be in Mexico with her family, and she enjoyed many vacations there throughout the years.
Doris was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the relatively young age of 50. She fought a ferocious battle to the very end, meeting her health changes with resilience and her signature razor-sharp wit and humour.
Her last years were spent living at the Niverville PCH and the family would like to extend a thank you to the staff for their care.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Doris’s sister-in-law and friend Mona for making it her mission to ensure Doris always had a manicure and that she squeezed every possible enjoyment in life as she could in the time that was given to her. They had a special bond that transcends this world, and we know how much you will miss her.
A candlelight memorial will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at 7 pm at the Golden Friendship Centre in Niverville MB.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Parkinson Canada - Winnipeg in Doris’s memory.
