It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend Doris Ellen Pelletier age 68 on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Bethesda Regional Health Centre after a valiant battle with cancer.
Doris was predeceased by her daughter Nicolle at the age of 5 years, her father Keith Watson, and sister Diane Petit.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Rene, her daughter Tanya (Nick), beloved grandchildren, Stasio, Demetri, Kristina, her mother Ellen Watson, her sisters Gwenn (Dan) AmOrde, Johanna Renn, and her brother Grant (Emily) Watson. As well as many extended family and friends.
Doris survived polio and spent a large portion of her childhood at Shriners Hospital. Doris attended Fort Frances High School, and lived a wild life, starting her adult life by eloping and marrying Rene in 1970. Rene’s career allowed them the opportunity to live in various location across Manitoba, Iqaluit, and Northwestern Ontario, finding their retirement in the Paradise Village Community. Doris enjoyed golfing, fishing, and her favorite hobbies painting and drawing. She had a special love for animals; however, her family was most important to her.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to staff of CancerCare, as well as the nursing staff on the medical unit of the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, for their kindness and compassionate care shown to Doris during her stay.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Crossings Funeral Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
