Deborah Lee Fewster (nee: Dunn)

November 12, 1954 — October 13, 2024

It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Deborah Lee Fewster (nee. Dunn) on October 13, 2024, at her home in Niverville at the age of 69.

Debbie was born to Wesley and Sadie Dunn on November 12, 1954, in Carman, Manitoba and is survived by her 3 children, Colleen Dyck (Grant), Ella Rempel (Roger), and Daniel Fewster (Nigel), and her grandchildren Georgia, Oskar, Leo and Moses Dyck, Charlie, Remi and Nina Rempel, Boaz, Hildi and Willow Fewster, who affectionately referred to her as “Momok.”

Debbie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She served selflessly in her community, and would lend a listening ear, a caring heart and an open home to anyone in need.

Debbie was an adventurer at heart and travelled coast to coast many times over the years visiting her brothers and sisters. She loved hiking and spending time in nature with her “hiking girls”. She was an avid fisherman and shared her passion and skill with her grandchildren.

Popping in on her you were likely to find her taking apart pieces of her car, pouring concrete to make tiles for her garden, or too high up a ladder doing repairs on her house. She was not afraid to tackle anything.

Debbie was deeply creative and spent countless hours curating her gardens, yard and home. She expressed herself in painting, stained glass, sewing, crafting and tinkering in the garden.

Throughout her life, Debbie took great joy in caregiving. She touched many lives as she served the community’s elderly as a healthcare aid. Her most recent passion was volunteering for disaster clean up and providing support for displaced families through Samaritan’s Purse. She was also a part of the “Shine the Light” Family, travelling to the Dominican Republic to build houses and work in the local community. She considered it a privilege to serve others. A true gem.

Debbie lived her life leaning on the Lord. Jesus was her foundation and her anchor. Our mother’s legacy to the world will be her kindness, and her unshakeable faith which she walked out humbly side by side with her prayer sisters.

The family would like to acknowledge the first responders, firemen, paramedics and police officers for their exceptional care.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday October 20, 2024, at the Crossview Church, located at 345 Loewen Blvd. Steinbach, MB. For those unable to attend the family invites you to join them through livestream.

If friends so desire, donations can be made in memory of Debbie to Samaritan’s Purse Canada, 1-800-663-6500, for Canadian Relief Projects.
