In loving memory of Daniel Melvin Lone, who journeyed to his final resting place on April 10th, 2024. A true renaissance soul, he wore many hats throughout his 52 years on this earth, leaving behind a legacy rich in adventure, laughter, and craftsmanship.
Born on August 25th, 1971 to Melvin and Stella Lone in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dan is predeceased by his sister Angela.
Dan will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Melody; his children Gina (Colby), Kelly, Jessica (Brendon); his grandchildren Hazleigh, Maeva, and Jasper; parents Melvin and Stella; sister Amy (Mark), as well as extended family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dan embraced life with an insatiable curiosity and a knack for turning dreams into reality.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Dan found his great joy amidst the rugged beauty of nature. Whether he was casting lines while fishing, or camping with Melody, as a master angler, he found solace by the water’s edge, casting lines and reeling in tales of the one that got away.
A skilled taxidermist, Dan possessed a unique talent for preserving the beauty of wildlife, capturing moments in time with meticulous care and craftsmanship.
Dan explored many career paths along the way, until finding and settling in as a dedicated and valued member of the Plett Trucking team.
Dan was a visionary with a mind constantly buzzing with new ideas and projects waiting to be brought to life. Whether it was his passion with his trains, or other hobbies, he approached every challenge with determination and ingenuity, proving time and again that he could build or fix anything that crossed his path. Dan will forever be remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and mentor. His wisdom will guide us in times of uncertainty, and his spirit will live on in the stories we share and the lives he touched.
As we bid farewell to Dan, let us take comfort in knowing that his legacy of passion, humor, and bountied lists boundless creativity will endure for generations to come. May he rest in peace surrounded by the beauty of the natural world he so cherished
