Peacefully, with family by her side, our beloved matriarch, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Anne Hospital in St. Anne, Manitoba.
Predeceased by husband William and son Patrick, her legacy lives on within her daughter Amanda (Chris), son Sean, daughter-in-laws Kim & Nicole, and her cherished grandchildren (Daniel, Megan (Joel), Ashleen (Luc), Craig (Jeannine), Jordan (Kelly), Charly, Oliver, Gradey, Adeline), and great-grandchildren (Jack, Hazel, Emmett, Jude, Willa, Wilder, Sloane, Jordi).
As the eldest of 14 children, Mom with Dad emigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1967, proudly calling both home. Mom had a caring nature—giving, compassionate, understanding, and welcoming, and the first to lend a helping hand—not only to family and friends but also to the most vulnerable in our society, earning her the honour of Foster Mother of the Year. She was feisty and fun-loving, and above all, an unending inspiration to her family and community.
With many trips back to Ireland, Mom maintained a strong bond with her family roots, which led to much laughter and fond memories for all. Mom’s example inspired an appreciation for our heritage, loyalty, and family values within her children and grandchildren.
A special thank you is extended to the thoughtful care provided by Dr. Demoissac, Jill Plett (palliative care nurse), and the incredible nurses and aides at Ste. Anne Hospital. We also wish to extend our sincere gratitude to sisters Bernadette (Mario) and Mary (Jim) for their loving support of Mom during these past few months.
If friends so desire, donations in Mom’s memory can be made to Fonds Hôpital Ste-Anne Hospital Fund.
